Living/Dining Expansion & Remodel

A slight expansion of the narrow living room combined with a new dining room addition helped transform this small living area into a true entertaining home.

Our challenge was to alleviate the problem of traffic flow through the living space and to create a true eddy space for relaxation and entertainment. A gas fireplace and pass through buffet helped to separate the living space with the newly added dining room with french doors to the garden studio and backyard. A desk area was added to the side of the fireplace buffet to create a buffer between the living/entry area and the dining room.

The combination of this small addition with a newly updated exterior façade and front porch helped the owners to achieve their desire of a much more livable home with an appropriate natural sense of entry.
